Scope
This policy applies to lectura-inmersiva.vercel.app (or the domain where the site is published) and describes both the processing the product itself does and that of the third-party services we use to run it and, eventually, fund it through advertising.
What data the product processes
Your PDF is processed entirely in your browser: the text is extracted right there, without uploading the file to any server. To generate audio, the text of each paragraph is sent to our server, which forwards it to Microsoft Edge's neural voice service to synthesize it on the fly; that text isn't stored in any database of ours. Your reading progress, font size, and document library are stored only in your browser's local storage (localStorage), not on a server, so they don't sync across devices and we can't see them. Use your own PDFs: notes, books you've bought, or public-domain texts.
Third-party services
We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate site usage (page views, without identifying you individually). If we show advertising in the future (for example, through Google AdSense or Google Ad Manager), those providers may use cookies or device identifiers, and process your IP address and other technical data under their own privacy policies, to serve and measure ads. Personalized ads only activate if you've given consent through the site's cookie notice.
Cookies and consent
The site itself doesn't need cookies to work (reading PDFs works fine without them). If we turn on advertising, some third-party cookies may require your explicit consent, which we ask for via a cookie notice before loading those scripts. You can change your decision at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Your rights
Since we don't create accounts or store your documents or progress on a server, we don't hold a user database to exercise access, rectification, or deletion rights against: that data already lives only in your browser, and you can delete it yourself whenever you want. For questions about the data the third-party services above process, we recommend reviewing their own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves (for example, when we turn on advertising). We'll update the "last updated" date on this page whenever we make a meaningful change.
